A Grin, A Smile, A Laugh

The Calabash, gave the blast to creative explosion
Expressions became weapons of mass protection
Guarding bonds of friends solidified by

A grin

A smile

A laugh

Tony had a great one of each with a heart to match
welcomed us artist into his Calabash

A Soul’s departure always arrives too early
to those still waiting for flight
Wish they could fight for a window seat
just for one more conversation

Great people soar with you
to a destination we should all see
When my time comes for departure
I’ll be at peace knowing

A grin

A smile

A laugh

Of a friend will be waiting in heaven

Thankful for the prayers, I do not hear
Silent whispers of truth in the wind
Sins upon my brow lay heavy
My mind weighed down and stressed like the levies

Gentle breeze through tunnels
funnel troubles down the drain
Pain, a figment of my imagination
Pigments in the pictures' painting
Filament the keeps my light blazing
A candle in the dark, for those who are lost
it's a sign of home.

Come now
Rest now
Family provides the best pillows
fluffed with love and stuffed with high hopes.
We come short of saints and popes
but come we must

to be embraced by trust and faith.
Two arms never felt so safe.
But they let go sometimes
to let the risk we take
ours to contemplate.

We see farther upon higher ground
by those who climbed out of death valleys
to mountain tops and cemented the foundation.
Now we star gaze
with nothing in our way
except
the wind.

In my death, there is the voice of the righteous,
Defiance to all injustice that feeds on silence,
The riots and protest to bring the best of humanity,
To the surface. March forward on the grounds I lay under.
In my Death, I'll hold you up and watch over you.
My Death, may it serve as cries of battle,
Combat snakes that rattle our faith.
Fearful trimmers from when foundations break, and
For sakes of little fates resting under our wings of protection
Teach them to fly,
To sing,
To conduct symphonies as their wings, glide through the air.
We are beings deliberately created to be deliberately creative.
Its our native Purpose.
Our passionate nature will save what is threaten
Protect what is destined. Our Victory? There is no question.
My death, let it be the lesson
A life honorably discharged from is a life worth living.

Between black and white aren't shades of gray,
But the colors of the rainbow
As I flow down slides and chutes, I listen to melodies of flutes
Guiding me home to the place of origin
Swollen members by pounding pavement
To make rent payments and keep lights luminated
Many hated during hating season, ringing bells against liberty for treason of the cause
Watered down by clause in laws
Design by shock and awe minds
Nothing mysterious leave us delirious,
Looking for help that's serious
I'm tired of too many games being played
People posing more than a game of charades
